welcome to Reef Monitoring!

Monitoring our Offshore Reefs

Reef Monitoring is a non-profit organization established in 2005, headquartered in Clearwater, Florida. The purpose is to organize a group of marine scientists and educators as a means of watching over our invaluable natural and artificial reef systems.

These scientific studies will allow us to establish a base line of these resources in the event they are impacted by either a man-made or natural event in the future.

Reef Monitoring aims to involve members of the local fishing and diving community actively in the effort of collecting this scientific data and seeks to educate the public on the importance of these valuable underwater communities. These ecosystems are crucial to the local ecology and economy of our Tampa Bay area.

All data collected will be organized and available on this website for use by all parties, private or government.

Reef Monitoring, Inc. is dedicated to provide educational programs, to care for and improve Florida's valauble reef and estuarine ecosystems, to advance sustainable communities, to help build institutional ability and to gain broad-based public support for on-going marine conservation, for habitat enhancement and for research and education programs.
